Saudi Jets Slaughter Scores of Friendly Troops in Yemen Again

SANAA (Dispatches) – Saudi warplanes hit the positions of the friendly forces in central Yemen and killed a large number of militants loyal to fugitive former President Mansour Hadi, in what has come to be known as "routine" shooting and bombing of friendly troops by the Saudi air force.
Tens of pro-Hadi militias were killed in the Saudi fighter jets' air raid on their positions in Ma'rib province.
In a similar incident on August 6, scores of the militias loyal to Mansour Hadi were killed in the Saudi airstrike in al-Jawf province.
In another development, the Yemeni army and popular committees launched a retaliatory artillery attack against a Saudi military base in the kingdom’s southwestern province of Jizan, killing at least four soldiers.
Yemeni forces fired artillery shells at the military base of Abadiyah in Jizan, killing four Saudi forces, al-Masirah reported.
Also on Monday, the Yemeni artillery shells hit the Saudi military base of Bahtit in the same province.
The artillery attacks are carried out in retaliation for Riyadh’s relentless airstrikes on the impoverished nation of Yemen.
The kingdom’s warplanes on Monday pounded the district of Nihm, east of the capital, Sana’a, and Dhubab in the southwestern province of Ta’izz.
Furthermore, the Yemeni army and popular forces seized control of strategic military positions and a mountain from the Saudi-led forces in al-Jawf province.
The Yemeni forces won back al-Kuna Mountain in the eastern part of al-Matun region in al-Jawf province.
The captured mountain plays an important role in monitoring and controlling transportation in the northern part of Yemen.
Last week, the Yemeni army and popular forces continued to push back the pro-Saudi forces from a strategic region and its nearby mountains located between Ma'rib and al-Bayda provinces.
The Yemeni forces took control of Qanieh region and the mountains overlooking it.
A large number of pro-Saudi forces were killed and wounded in fierce clashes with the Yemeni army and popular forces.
The Yemeni army also seized an arms and ammunition depot from the pro-Saudi forces.
