Highly Praised Social Drama Off to U.S.

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian movie ‘The Badger’ is scheduled to vie at the Jacksonville Film Festival (JFF) in the U.S.
Kazem Mollaee’s movie will be screened at the feature films section of the 2022 edition of the event.
The 93-minute movie narrates the story of a 40-year-old woman who is facing a difficult challenge in her private life.
Soudeh’s 11-year-old son, Matiar, gets kidnapped as she is about to start a second marriage. After considerable search and effort, she decides to ask for the ransom money from her ex-husband, Peyman. How much will this incident challenge her certainties?
The cast list of the flick includes names such as Vishka Asayesh, Hassan Majouni, Mehraveh Sharifinia, Behnoush Bakhtiyari, Reza Behboudi, and Gohar Kheirandish.
Founded in 2002, the mission of the JFF is to “celebrate motion pictures by discovering and showcasing new talents to rejuvenate the film industry by creating an atmosphere that immerses the filmmakers with their audience and community.”
The festival is an opportunity for filmmakers to be recognized for their cinematic achievements while creating an event to reward the best works submitted to the festival.
This year’s edition of the event is slated for February 4-6.
