Turkey Detains More Suspects Over Failed Coup in 2016
ANKARA (Xinhua) – The Turkish police on Tuesday detained 17 suspects over their alleged links to a network accused of orchestrating a coup attempt in 2016.
The Ankara prosecutor’s office said that an arrest warrant was issued for 29 suspects that were allegedly linked to the Gulen movement, which the Turkish government accuses of attempting a coup on July 15, 2016.
Ankara accuses U.S.-based Fethullah Gulen of masterminding the attempted coup in 2016, in which at least 250 people were killed.
