China Too Good for Iran at 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup

TEHRAN – National women’s football team suffered a loss to the most decorated Asian team, China, in the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup on Sunday.
The twentieth edition of the 2022 AFC Women’s Asian Cup kicked off on Thursday in India.
Iran in its first match drew against the hosts 0-0.
The Iranian women’s national football team played the team of China for its second match and lost 7-0.
The Chinese team has so far won the tournament 8 times so far, standing above all other Asian teams.
Earlier on Saturday, Iran humiliated Tajikistan 12-0 in their second match in the event.
Fereshteh Karimi (three goals), Sara Shirbeigi (three goals), Sahar Papi (two goals), Fatemeh Papi, Mahsa Alimadad and Fereshteh Khosravi scored for Iran in this match.
A Tajikistan player also scored an own goal.
Iran had started the campaign with a 5-2 win over Uzbekistan on Friday.
Iran will meet Kyrgyzstan on Monday.
The competition is being held from January 19 to 29 in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Tajikistan, Iran, Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan are taking part in the tournament.
