Iranian Documentary Participates at Dhaka Festival
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian documentary ‘Children of the Night’ has been selected to go on screen at the Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) in Bangladesh.
Directed by Behrouz Nouranipour, the Iranian feature-length documentary will be screened at the Cinema of the World category of the 20th edition of the DIFF.
Produced by the Center for Expansion of Documentary and Experimental Cinema, the 87-minute ‘Children of the Night’ is about the life of child soldiers in wars.
The Iranian doc was premiered at the documentary competition section of the 25th Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. It has also gone on screen at the Giffoni Film Festival in Italy and the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival and Film Fund in the US.
“A child soldier, craving heroin, with a Kalashnikovs in hand has been involved in more than fifty Daesh wars and conflicts. Balanche is among the first child soldiers to tell his stories and observations of one of the most terrifying wars in the world in full detail, along with his four other companions,” the website of the AmDocs reads.
The Dhaka International Film Festival is one of the most prestigious film events in Bangladesh.
The 20th edition of the DIFF will take place on January 15-23, 2022.
