Highly Praised ‘Loculus’ Hits Screens in U.S.
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short film ‘Loculus’ has been scheduled to take part in the New Filmmakers New York Film Festival (NFNYFF) in the U.S.
Directed by Amir Roueini, the short film will go on screen at the 25th edition of the American film event.
“Power is out in the cemetery’s mortuary. The mortuary’s personnel realize that something’s wrong due to the stinking smell. There’s also a corpse there, belonging to a ten-year-old boy’s mom,” a synopsis for the film reads.
Amir-Ali Roueini, Nazanin Karimi and Davoud Zarchi form the main cast list of the flick.
‘Loculus’ has so far participated in a number of global events, including the SCHLiNGEL Int’l Film Festival for Children and Young Audience in Germany and the Zoom ZBLIZENIA film festival in Poland, where it grabbed the best film award of the festival.
According to the official website of the NFNYFF, “the New Filmmakers Series began in 1998 and over the past twenty-one years has screened over 1000 feature and 4,000 short films”.
The upcoming edition of the festival will be held on January 11-February 29, 2022.
