The West, and the lands it has come to dominate since the past century-and-a- quarter because of its colonial hegemony, have stepped today into the Year 2022 of the Christian Gregorian Calendar, which as usual, was preceded last night with wild parties, unbridled revelries, and, of course, committing of the oldest sins in the newest possible ways that would shock the Messiah if he were to return.
The messages of the monarchs, presidents, prime ministers, and chancellors, celebrating the New Year were as meaningless as in the past with nothing new in their contents.
As a matter of fact, their statements were a shameless display of hypocrisy regarding problems plaguing the world as a result of their own misconstrued policies, and once again exposed these self-styled statesmen as either naïve or knaves.
This means the world people, especially the oppressed ones, should be prepared for the worsening of the crises that have been carried over from the Year 2021.
The intention is not to sound pessimistic or make palls of gloom subvert New Year joys, but it would be self-deception to ignore the realities.
Take for instance the start of the new presidency in the US in January last year with the change of guard in the White House from the Republican rogue Donald Trump to the Democrat dunce Joe Biden.
The person who as the deputy of President Barak Obama for eight long years was involved in the negotiations that led to the signing of the JCPOA in 2015 regarding Iran’s inalienable right to civilian nuclear energy, and who during his 2020 election campaign had criticized Trump’s illegal exit from the same by promising to rejoin the Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action, is not just dragging his feet today but imposing more illegal sanctions on the Islamic Republic.
Biden, though he does not appear to be a loose cannon like Trump, seems bent upon causing intentional damage to international relations as is clear by his policy of vilifying China and Russia, threatening North Korea, meddling in the affairs of Latin American states, exploiting African countries, supporting the terrorism of the racist/criminal entity Israel, fanning the flames of war in Yemen, and refusing to withdraw the CENTCOM terrorists from Iraq, Syria, and the Persian Gulf/Arabian Sea/Red Sea region.
Does such an intransigent attitude bode well for resolution of problems, peace, harmony, and co-existence in the New Calendar Year?
Certainly not, and it means 2022 will be as gloomy as 2021 – perhaps worse – because of the lack of sincerity, coupled with the absence of spiritual values in the West, especially in the US, whose state terrorism all over the world is the main cause of mankind’s misery.
What makes prospects of progress dim in the New Year are not just political problems, but other vital issues like the inability or unwillingness to eradicate the Coronavirus pandemic, which has drastically changed social/cultural norms in addition to destroying the economies of world countries.
Then there is the unhindered release of greenhouse gases (by industrialized countries) that are tearing apart the Planet’s protective Ozone layer, thereby letting in the Sun’s ultraviolet rays which are not just hazardous for human health and plant life, but are melting the polar icecaps to make sea levels rise and submerge low lying coastal areas.
Last but not the least is the breakdown of moral values resulting in the spread of lies, deceit, depravities and unnatural gender relations, such as sodomy and lesbianism, on the pretext of ill-defined personal freedoms which destroy the delicate human nature and lead to crimes in society, including proliferation of drugs, alcoholism, violence against children, financial corruption, fraudulent elections, misrule, racism, jingoism, desecration of sanctities, and genocide of ethnic and religious minorities.
Thus, unless humanity is ready to return to the monotheist path of virtue and abstinence from abominable sins as decreed by the One and Only Creator of the universe through repentance and reform with the sincere intention to get rid of these problems, New Year rejoicing will have no meaning or purpose, and 2022 will be as listless as the years that went by.
