Zionist Settlers Kill Old Palestinian Woman, Injure Scores

WEST BANK (Dispatches) – The Palestinian village of Bruqa, north of the occupied West Bank, has been under constant Zionist settler attacks for almost a week.
Close to Road 60, which connects the cities of Ramallah to Nablus and Jenin, Burqa is also near the Homesh illegal settlement outpost, which lies to its north.
Following a shooting near Homesh that left one settler dead and two wounded last week, Burqa’s 4,500 residents have been under continuous attacks and harassment by settlers.
At least 125 Palestinians were wounded in violent attacks by Zionist troops after hundreds of settlers attempted to break into and raid the village.
42 Palestinians, including a local journalist, were injured by rubber-coated bullets and 83 others suffered breathing problems after inhaling tear gas fired by occupation troops in Burqa, on Thursday evening, the Palestinian Red Crescent (PRC) said.
The PRC said a girl was treated for shock after a group of violent settlers attacked her family’s home on the outskirts of the village, Wafa news agency reported.
The Zionist setters also attacked several vehicles, three houses, and a car wash belonging to Palestinians under the protection of Zionist troops.
They also vandalized a number of gravestones in a cemetery in the village. Two ambulances were hit by the troops with stun grenades and tear gas canisters.
After the 1995 accords, the occupying regime confiscated 1,014 dunams of land from the village of Burqa in order to establish the settlement of Homesh. The settlement was evacuated in 2005 but was later used by the regime as a military base.
Settlers have been calling on the regime to let them return to the Homesh settlement.
Zionist troops and settlers have ramped up their violent attacks against Palestinians.
There have been scores of “hit and run” incidents targeting Palestinians in different parts of the occupied West Bank.
A middle-aged Palestinian woman lost her life after a Zionist settler ran her over in the central part of the West Bank.
Security sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Palestine’s official WAFA news agency that 55-year-old Ghadeer Anis Masalma was struck at the entrance to the town of Sinjil, which lies northeast of Ramallah, on Friday noon.
The sources added that the settler fled the scene after the attack.
Two Palestinians were killed in the area by Zionist troops on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Monday, 70 Palestinians were injured by regime troops in Burqa after an attack by settlers on Palestinians’ vehicles in the area.
