Iranian Karate Athletes Claim More Medals at Asian Championship
ALMATY, Kazakhstan –
Iranian female karate athletes Sarina Fat’hi and Fatemeh Bodaq have managed to gain two gold medals in 2021 Kazakhstan Asian Karate Championship.
The continental competitions were held in all age groups, teenage, youth, and grownups, in two classes of Kata and Committee, from December 18, in Kazakhstan’s Almaty city and Sarina Fat’hi and Fatemeh Bodaq gained their gold medals on Sunday.
Fatemeh Bodaq won her gold medal in 59kg weight after beating her rivals in the first and second matches 4-nil and 1-1, and beating her final competitor from the host country 9-nil.
Sarina Fat’hi, too, in the same weight won her first match from Kazakhstan 6-nil, ended her second match 0-0 against an athlete from Jordan, and won the final match against her UAE competitor 1-nil.
The Iranian Karate team has so far won an overall of 13 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze at the end of the third day of the competition.
The 2021 Asian Karate Championships are the 17th edition of the Senior Asian Karate Championship and 19th edition of the Cadet, Junior & U21 Championships and are being held in Almaty, Kazakhstan from 19 to 22, December 2021.
