Yemeni Forces Capture Key Positions Near Saudi Border
SANAA -- Yemeni army and allied fighters from Popular Committees have made fresh gains, taking control of key positions in the northeastern province of Jawf on the border with Saudi Arabia, Lebanon’s Al-Mayadeen reported Wednesday. They captured a number of positions in the strategic Qash’an mountains and Salbah Valley in Jawf’s Khabb wa ash Sha’af district on the border with Saudi Arabia’s Najran region, it said. The Qash’an mountain range is strategically important as it overlooks the area of Alyutamah, the administrative center of Khabb wa ash Sha’af district, and Al-Ajasher desert which extends between Jawf and Najran.
