Majlis Backs Raisi’s Pick for Minister of Education
TEHRAN – The Iranian parliament on Sunday gave a vote of confidence to President Ebrahim Raisi’s choice for the Ministry of Education.
Yousef Nouri won the portfolio with a vote of 194-57, with 17 abstentions. The president’s previous pick for the ministry, Masoud Fayyazi, had failed to win the parliament’s vote on November 16. The Ministry of Education has around 900,000 employees, 63 percent of whom are teachers.
