TEHRAN (Honaronline) – Bonhams London Auction of modern and contemporary Middle Eastern art was held on November 17 in London with works from Iranian artists.
Works by artists from Iran, Egypt, Morocco, Lebanon,Syria, Iraq, Palestine, etc. offered in the Bonhams auction. The three expensive works in the auction belonged to Iraqi and Iranain artists. Out of the 14 Iranian works presented, 8 were sold for €442,996.
A work by Iraq artist Jewad Selim took first place, earning € 997,443. Another work by this artist took second place, earning €238,137.
Hossein Zenderoudi’s work “DAL+DAL+DAL” becoming the third top seller at Bonhams auction, earning €148,947.
“Convergence” by Marcos Grigorian took Sixth place, earning €111,784.
A work by Sohrab Sepehri took seventh place, earning €105,838.
Two works by painter Marcos Grigorian went under the hammer for €16,648, and 44,892.
A work by Sadegh Tabriz sold for €6,064.
Untitled (Turquois & Gold) painting by Jafar Rouhbakhsh sold for €6,368 and Ardeshir Mohasses’s work was hammered for €2,425.
Also, works by Mohammad Ehsaei, Bijan Rafati, Ardeshir Mohasses, Sadegh Tabrizi, Jafar Rouhbakhsh and Marko Gregorian were not sold in this auction.
