Zionist Delegation in Egypt to Discuss Hamas Prisoner Swap

CAIRO (Dispatches) – A Zionist
delegation arrived in Egypt on Sunday to discuss a possible prisoner swap with Palestinian factions in Gaza, reported Anadolu Agency.
The official KAN channel said the delegation will meet with Egyptian officials to discuss issues related to the situation in Gaza, including a long cease-fire and a prisoner swap deal in addition to strengthening bilateral ties.
The delegation, which includes Zionist Security Adviser Eyal Hulata, is expected to return to the occupied territories after meeting with Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel, the channel said.
Palestinian group Hamas has detained two Zionist troops following the 2014 offensive on Gaza by the occupying regime. Two other Zionists are believed to have been held by Hamas after they entered Gaza under unclear circumstances.
The resistance group hopes to swap the Zionist captives for 4,500 Palestinians languishing in the occupying regime’s prisons
More than 7,000 Palestinians are reportedly held in the regime’s jails. Hundreds of them have apparently been incarcerated under the so-called administrative detention. Some prisoners have been held in administrative detention for up to 11 years.
Over a dozen Palestinian lawmakers and nearly 20 journalists are also held in the Zionist regime’s detention centers, several of them under the same detention policy.
The regime’s doctors have warned of rapidly deteriorating health condition of a Palestinian prisoner who has been on hunger strike for more than 120 days in protest against the policy of ‘administrative detention’, saying he is close to sudden death at any moment.
The Palestinian Information Center, quoting Kayed al-Fasfous’ brother, reported on Sunday that doctors at the Israeli Barzilai Medical Center, where the Palestinian inmate is being treated, have told him that his brother has developed symptoms suggesting a clot in his blood, which could lead to his death.
According to Fasfous’ brother, the Palestinian hunger-striking prisoner is also suffering from irregular heartbeats, kidney problems, low blood pressure and serious decline in body fluids and vitamins.
The Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs has already warned that the health condition of Fasfous is very critical and he might die at any moment.
