Minister: Iran Set to Import Chinese Housing Construction Tech

TEHRAN – Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development, Rostam Ghasemi said Friday that Islamic Republic is in talks with China to import the country’s Housing Construction Technology.
Ghasemi srtessed the continuation of negotiations with Chinese companies for the introduction of new technologies for housing construction in the country.
“Representatives of Chinese companies are currently present in the country and we are negotiating with them,” said the minister, adding that the Chinese are not going to bring their workers to the country; neither will they import engineers nor construction materials.
The Minister of Roads and Urban Development emphasized that the Chinese are going to bring their construction technologies to Iran to boost country’s construction level.
In late March 2021, Iranian and Chinese governments signed a 25-year agreement to develop cooperation between the two countries in various fields.
The document was signed by the former Iranian foreign minister Muhammad Javad Zarif and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi after the two top diplomats held talks at the Foreign Ministry in Tehran following the announcement of Iran-China Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in a joint statement during a visit by Chinese President Xi Jinping to Tehran in 2016.
The cooperation roadmap consists of 20 articles, covering Tehran-Beijing ties in “Political,” “Executive Cooperation,” “Human and Cultural,” “Judiciary, Security and Defense,” and “Regional and International” domains, according to the statement released back then.
