Palestinians Injured in Settler Attack
WEST BANK (Dispatches) – At least three Palestinians were injured in a settler attack in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to a local official, Anadolu reports.
Dozens of Zionist settlers armed with sticks and rocks attacked the Tha’la Bedouin community in southern Al-Khalil, Fouad al-Amour, coordinator of the local Protection and Resilience Committee, which monitors Israeli violations in Hebron, told Anadolu Agency.
He said Zionist troops were present at the scene and provided protection to the settlers.
There was no comment from the regime’s military on the claim.
The Palestinian coordinator said two women were among those injured in the settler attack.
On Saturday, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry said it was preparing a list of settler organizations to legally prosecute them.
In a separate incident, Zionist troops assaulted Palestinian olive farmers in Qaryut village, south of Nablus.
The troops expelled farmers from their own olive grove and prevented them from harvesting the crop.
Various attacks on Palestinian property, including arson and graffiti, have become a daily occurrence throughout the occupied territories, particularly in the West Bank.
However, Zionist regime authorities rarely prosecute the settler assaults on Palestinians and their property and the vast majority of the files are closed due to deliberate police failure to investigate properly.
Zionist settlers have noticeably escalated attacks against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank in recent months.
The UN Humanitarian Affairs Coordinator office in the Palestinian territories documented 287 incidents assaults by settlers in the West Bank and East Al-Quds in which Palestinian properties were damaged since the start of this year.
For years, the occupying regime has clearly allowed its settlers to assault Palestinians and inflict damage on their property as one of its policies. This has included provision of military protection for the attackers, and in some cases troopers’ active participation in the assault.
The United Nations has already warned of a surge in Zionist settler violence against Palestinians, mostly in the areas of Al-Khalil, Al-Quds, Nablus and Ramallah.
More than 600,000 Zionists live in over 230 settlements built since the 1967 Israeli occupation of the West Bank and East Al-Quds.
