German Exground Screens Lauded Film ‘The Blue Bed’

Iranian short flick ‘The Blue Bed’ has been selected to compete at the 34 edition of the Exground Film Festival in Germany.
Written, produced and directed by Alireza Kazemipour, the 14-minute film tells the story of a girl who has taken an inappropriate path in her life and hosts visitors at home.
But suddenly things start to change for her when a woman walks into her life.
The cast list of the film includes Anahita Eqbalnejad, Bita Beigi, Hamed Rahimi-Nasr, Ali-Pouya Qasemi, Diako Khaki, Hedayatollah Sajjadi, and Sahar Azizian.
‘The Blue Bed’ has been screened at a number of global events and won some awards, including the Best Directing award at the Vancouver Short Film Festival in Canada and the best short film award at the Reading Film Festival in the U.S.
The short film received three nominations for Best Screenwriting Short Drama, Best Direction Short Drama, and Best Short Drama at the Leo Awards in Canada, as well as a nomination for best actress in a supporting role (Beigi) at the Satisfied Eye International Film Festival in the UK.
According to the official website of the Exground Film Festival, “the organizers put together a worthwhile program featuring over 120 productions – a cross-section of international cinema’s class of 2019/20, chosen from over 2,500 short and feature-length film submissions”.
The 2021 edition of the event is scheduled for November 12-21.
