Kurdistan Province Exports $575mn Worth of Goods

TEHRAN – Iran’s Kurdistan Province Customs Supervisor Khalil Heidari said on Saturday that 575 million dollars of goods have been exported via the province in the last 7 months.
He said that from March 21 to October 22 (7 months from the beginning of the Persian year), 1,263,000 tons of goods worth of 575 million dollars have exported through customs of the western Iranian province which borders with Iraq.
Although Iranian exports through Kurdistan Province has decreased by 39 percent compared to the same period last year, the official said, the total transit through the province’s international borders has reached 1,978,000 tons with 148 percent growth compared to the same period last year.
Heidari also noted that the total goods transited via the province saw 148-percent growth in value, reaching 4.329 billion dollars this year.
The total transit included goods with domestic or foreign origins exported through the province to foreign destinations.
There has also been 26,000 tons of goods worth of 73,431,000 dollars imported through the province borders which indicated 1,600 percent growth in weight and 149 percent in value compared to the same period last year, according to the official.
