TEHRAN (Shana) – The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) Mohsen Khojastehmehr on Wednesday said the country’s natural gas production would reach 940 million cubic meters per day during winter.
Speaking at the meeting with the presence of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in the vicinities of Ministry of Petroleum, Khojastehmehr said: “This winter, at a maximum consumption of the domestic, commercial, industrial and power plants, about 940 million cubic meters of gas will be produced from the land and sea sectors.”
He added: “Of this amount, 700 million cubic meters of gas will be through 37 offshore platforms in the Persian Gulf and the South Pars gas field, which accounts for 70% of the country’s gas output.”
The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company emphasized on providing safe fuel in the cold months of this year: “In this winter, we will have maximum gas production and in cases where we need, liquid fuel will be used if necessary.”
