Iranian Film Makes Big Time at Rio Int’l Awards

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short film
‘Nafiri’ has succeeded to scoop three awards from the 2021 Rio International Monthly Awards (RIMA) Festival in Brazil.
Directed by Mohammad Sadegh Ghahremani, ‘Nafiri’ received awards for best actor, best design and best makeup from the RIMA festival.
‘Nafiri’ is also the recipient of the best film, best director, and best actor awards from the Golden Reel Film Festival in the U.S.
Earlier, Reza Robatjazi, as the main lead character of the film, won the best actor award from the Ribalta Experimental Film Festival in Italy.
Produced by Maryam Ghaffari, ‘Nafiri’ was also screened at the 16th Camden International Film Festival in the US, the 4th Southeast Regional Film Festival in the US, the 11th Festival Internacional de Cine de Lleida Visual Art in Spain, the 3rd Stockholm Independent Film Festival, the 2020 Lift-Off First-Time Filmmaker Online Sessions in the UK and the Screen Power Film Festival in London.
The flick was a finalist to the 2020 Dallas Independent Film Festival in the US as well as the 2020 Breaking Down Barriers Film Festival in Russia.
‘Nafiri’ is also the winner of the best experimental film of the 9th Depth of Field International Film Festival in the U.S.
The RIMA Festival (RIO INTERNATIONAL MONTHLY AWARDS) is an online screening event with the aim to highlight and reward professionals from all categories of independent, national and foreign short films.
In December, all winners from all categories will be gathered to compete for the Best of the Year award.
