Top-Tier Animation Named Best at Serbian Festival

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iran’s ‘The
Rotation’ has won an award at the International Festival of Children and Youth Animated Film (MM Fest) in Serbia.
Directed and produced by Hazhir Asadi, the 7-minute animation received the first award at the student films section of the Serbian event.
‘The Rotation’ shows two tribes that engage in a tug-of-war to possess the sun and moon.
None of the sides can defeat the other and their conflict wreaks havoc on the Earth’s climate.
An eventual ceasefire brings temporary stability and harmony until unexpected events renew the cycle of conflict and destruction.
It is a film about the futility of war and the folly of human efforts to dominate nature.
‘The Rotation’ went on screen at a number of global events, including the River Film Festival in Italy, the Suncine International Festival of Environmental Cinema in Spain, the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival in the U.S., the MikroFAF International festival of DIY and independent short films in Serbia, the International Youth Film Festival “Light of the World” in Russia, the Providence Children’s Film Festival in the US, the VGIK International Student Festival in Russia, the Arpa International Film Festival in the U.S., where it won the Best Animated Film award, and the Florida Animation Festival in the U.S., where it received an Honorable Mention.
