IME Trades See 50% of Growth in a Month
TEHRAN - The Iran Mercantile Exchange (IME) on Saturday reported that around $2,013 million of various commodities weighting over 8,062,000 tons were traded in its domestic trading and exports halls in the past month, showing 70% and 49% of growth in terms volume and value of trades respectively.
The report said that over 6,018,000 tonnes of metal and mineral products, including, 1,050,000 tonnes of steel, 4,649,000 tonnes of cement, 19,180 tonnes of copper, 720 tonnes of molybdenum concentrate, 84 tonnes of precious metals concentrate, 28,010 tonnes of aluminum, 250,000 tonnes of iron ore, 16,820 tonnes of zinc, 400 tonnes of coke, 31,000 tonnes of sponge iron and 108 kg of gold bars with total value of $997 million were traded in the IME domestic and exports halls in the previous month.
And also, 2,004,000 tonnes of various oil and petrochemical products, including floor 521,024 tonnes of bitumen, 417,787 tonnes of polymeric products, 163,169 tonnes of chemicals, 17,029 tonnes of base oil, 3,500 tonnes of slops wax and 643,000 tonnes of vacuum bottom with the total value of $985mn were traded in its domestic and exports halls during the last week.
Moreover, the IME sold on the same floor 34,645 tonnes of sulfur, 1,610 tonnes of insulation and 194,000 tonnes of lube cut.
It’s worth noting that there was also 860 kg of saffron traded on the agricultural trading floor.
Last but not least, the exchange played host to trading 39,198 tonnes of various types of commodities on its side market.
