KUWAIT CITY (Xinhua) – Kuwait marked World Cleanup Day on Saturday by organizing a coastal cleanup campaign to raise environmental awareness and shed light on threats to the environment. The campaign was organized by “Trash Tag,” a non-profit organization dedicated to environmental efforts, in cooperation with the UN office in Kuwait and several organizations at a historical landmark in Shumaymah beach in Jahra Governorate. Carina Maceira, director and one of the founders of “Trash Tag,” told Xinhua that dozens of people showed up on Saturday to participate in the cleanup event celebrating World Cleanup Day.
