Iran Steel Exports to Afghanistan Resume
TEHRAN -- Steel exports to Afghanistan have resumed from Iran after a two-week hiatus which came in the wake of the Taliban’s whirlwind takeover of the country, a senior official of the Iranian Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade (MIMT) said on Tuesday.
“Due to the Taliban war, steel exports to Afghanistan faced problems for two weeks, where trucks were stranded at the customs. The situation was very grave and drivers were not taking risks,” Seifollah Amiri, managing director of the MIMT’s mining industries office, told ILNA news agency.
