Iranian Para-taekwondo fighter Mehdi Pur Rahnama in the weight category of – 75kg ranked 2nd in Tokyo Paralympic Games.
During the final match, Pur Rahnama stood against Mexican rival and received a silver medal.
Argentinian and South Korean fighters snatched bronze medal.
Iranian taekwondoka had earlier defeated Turkish and Kazakh rivals.
Para-taekwondo competitions are being held for the first time meaning that Pur Rahnama’s silver medal was Iran’s first medal in this field.
