Iran Ease Past India at 2021 FIVB U-19 World Championship

TEHRAN – Iran have defeated India in straight sets (25–22, 25–15, 25–22) at the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Boys’ U-19 World Championship.
Hussein Khanzadeh led Iran with 10 points, while Choudhary Tanish and Kumar Aman scored 13 points for the India team.
Iran will play Poland on Thursday in Pool A.
Out of 20, only 18 teams are competing in the 17th edition after the Dominican Republic joined Guatemala as a few of their players turned COVID-19 positive.
Italy is the reigning champion. It won the title in Tunis two years ago while host Iran (2017 champ), Brazil (2003 champ) and Russia are the contenders.
The tournament consists of two pools of four and two pools of five, with the top two from each advancing to the knockout stage.
