TEHRAN – Alireza Jahanbakhsh from Iran was voted the AFC International Player of Week.
The Feyenoord winger won the poll with 64 percent of votes.
Jahanbakhsh is back, both on the Dutch football scene and on the scoresheet after the Iranian forward marked his return to the Netherlands with a superb brace against Feyenoord’s Swiss opponents in UEFA Conference League qualifying.
He defeated his countrymen Allahyar Sayyadmanesh and Muhammad Naderi in the poll.
Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur, Korea Republic), Wataru Endo (VfB Stuttgart, Japan), Kyogo Furuhashi (Celtic, Japan), Tom Rogic (Celtic, Australia), Junya Ito (KRC Genk, Japan), Hwang In-beom (Rubin Kazan, Korea Republic), and Harry Souttar (Stoke City, Australia) were also among the candidates.
