Iran’s ‘Mandatory’ On Way to U.S. Nevada
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short flick ‘Mandatory’ has been selected to compete at the 21st edition of the Nevada City Film Festival in the U.S.
Written and directed by Mohammad-Javad Khoursha, the short film narrates the story of a soldier on the firing squad who has been caught in a dilemma.
Between morality and work responsibility, he does not know which one to pick.
Soheil Karamyar, Soheil Qannadan, Armin Boshrouyeh, and Fatemeh Radmanesh are among the cast members of the flick.
‘Mandatory’ has participated in a number of film events, including the 6th TweetFest Film Festival in the UK, the 2020 Visioni Corte Film Festival in Italy, the 2020 Ojai Film Festival in the US, the 2020 Charlotte Film Festival, the 6th Burien Film Festival in the U.S., and the 2020 Vancouver Island Short Film Festival in Canada.
The Nevada City Film Festival has hosted the world’s independent films in more than 20 years. The upcoming edition of the festival will be held both in person and virtually due to the pandemic.
The 21st edition of the event is to be held on August 27-September 12, 2021.
