TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian animation ‘Echo’ has been selected to vie at the 2021 Serra da Estrela International Environmental Film Festival (CineEco) in Portugal.
Directed by Barzan Rostami, the 7-minute animation is about understanding and perception of wildlife and environmental abuse, as well as its consequences on the human race.
The animation has been showcased at a number of global events, including the R.E.D International Film Festival in Norway, the Snake Alley Festival of Film in the U.S., and the International Tour Film Festival in Italy.
The film won an award for Best Short Film at the Southern Cone International Film Festival in Mexico. The 13th Smaragdni eco film festival in Croatia also honored the flick with its best animation award.
Lunched in 1995, the CineEco is the only festival in Portugal that is dedicated to environmental themes. The event focuses on the films that centers on environmental issues.
The 2021 edition of the festival will be held on October 9-16.
