Late Actress’s Accomplishments Donated to Film Museum of Iran
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- The Film Museum of Iran announced on Saturday the family of the late Iranian actress Mahchehreh Khalili has donated her some of awards and works to the museum.
A grandchild of veteran actress Parvin Soleimani, she had a degree in architecture from Oxford University and completed courses at Method Acting, a college school in London that provides acting classes and lessons.
The actress made her acting debut on the small screen with the series ‘Mokhtar Narrative’ directed by Davoud Mirbaqeri. In this series, she played the half-sister of Mokhtar and the wife of Omar bin Saad.
Playing a role in the historical series ‘In the Eye of the Storm’ was Khalili’s second TV experience. In this series, she played the mother of the main character named “Bijan Irani,” played by Parsa Pirouzfar. She depicted the character’s transition from youth to senility.
Wendy Simpson (an employee of the British Embassy in Iran) was a role played by Khalili in the series ‘The Pahlavi Hat’ directed by Seyyed-Ziaeddin Dorri.
‘Passing Through the Hardships’ was yet another historical series featuring the actress. It was made in 2014.
iFilm series ‘Stairway to Heaven’ follows renowned 15th-century Iranian astronomer managed to make incredible scientific advances as he lived during the tumultuous times of Timurs Mongol’s invasion. The actress played a role in this historical series as well.
Khalili died of pancreatic cancer in August 2020 in London at the age of 44.
