Russian Muslim Festival Invites Iranian Filmmaker to Judge
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian filmmaker Saeed Nejati has been chosen to judge at the 17th edition of the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival in Russia.
The Iranian filmmaker together with nine other judges will take part in the event.
Nejati has so far directed 16 feature and experimental short films and received an award at the Fajr Film Festival’s for his short film ‘Dabur’.
He has judged at many international festivals in different countries, including Turkey and Bangladesh.
Held since 2005, the Kazan International Muslim Film Festival has been hosting films from around the world.
The event’s motto is “Through the dialogue of cultures to the culture of dialogue”.
According to the festival’s official website, “The objectives of the festival are: exchange of experience of cultural and art workers from Russia, countries of near and far abroad; showing the creative achievements of filmmakers who create films that popularize universal human spiritual, moral and cultural values; creation of an objective understanding of Islam and Muslims in the Russian and international community”.
The 2021 edition of the event will be held on September 5-10.
