Iran’s Female Rowing Athlete Advances to Semifinals in Tokyo
TEHRAN - Iran’s Nazanin Malayee, in women’s rowing, booked a spot in the semifinals A/B of single sculls of the Tokyo Olympics.
Despite suffering from a minor injury, Malayee finished 3rd in her quarterfinals competition to advance to the next stage. She clocked a time of eight minutes, 7.32 seconds to cross the finish line behind rivals from New Zealand and Switzerland.
The Iranian will compete for a place in the final on Thursday as the event was pushed back by a day, due to the threat of poor weather conditions.
