Iranian Film Hits Screens at UK’s Oxford Festival

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- The Oxford International Short Film Festival (OXISFF) in the UK is set to screen Iranian short film ‘Wooden Sword’.
The Iranian Youth Cinema Society said in a media release that ‘Wooden Sword’ will participate at the 3rd edition of the British event.
Co-directed by Sousan Salamat and Behzad Alavi, the film is about the impact of parents’ behavior on their children.
The cast members of the film include Ahoura Salmani, Armin Farajzadeh-Motlaq, Sara Davari, Hamed Souri and Mehdi Niazi.
Earlier reports said Iran’s animated short film ‘Malakout’ will also be screened at the OXISFF.
The Oxford International Short Film Festival “celebrates the diversity and creativity of short films”, the event’s website reads, adding “We would like to encourage short films from all filmmakers in any genre (including documentaries). We’re looking for great stories which stir the emotions, have strong characters, and unique voices or evocative worlds.”
The 2021 edition of the festival will run on 27 August-4 September.
