France Grants ‘Beyond Time Genre’ Award to Iranian Screenwriter
TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian screenwriter Iman Davari has succeeded to win the top award of the 2021 Beyond Time Genre Awards Film Festival in France.
Davari, who has previously participated in several global film festivals with his screenplays, grabbed the Best Genre Script Award at the 3rd edition of the French bi-monthly event for his two screenplays ‘Love or Death’ and ‘The Organon’.
The screenwriter, who has also a hand in filmmaking, has been the recipient of the best film award for his ‘60=1’ at the international section of the 3rd Acharya Tulsi Short Film Festival in India. Davari depicts birth, growth, hope, love and death in ‘60=1.
‘Sleep No More’, another film by the same filmmaker, was previously nominated for the Golden Diamond Award for best screenplay at the 2nd Annual Golden Diamond Awards of the Asian Film Festival in Los Angeles, the US.
Davari won the first prize at the screenplay competition of the US-based Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival for ‘Sleep No More’ in 2019.
In 2019, he also received a nomination for best screenplay at the Twister Alley Film Festival in the U.S.
The Beyond Time Genre Awards, which mostly focuses on the science fiction, crime, horror and romance genres, is a bi-monthly online festival that “awards and gives cash prizes to those who style their works with clear genre traits,” as put by official website of the festival.
The event, changing its name to HYBRID GENRE Film Awards, is IMDb qualifying genre film and script awards, screening in Toronto – Canada and Melbourne – Australia.
The winners of this edition were announced on June 28th, 2021.
