TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Iranian short flick ‘The Chick’ has been selected to compete at the 35th edition of the Fribourg International Film Festival (FIFF) in Switzerland.
“A cook working in a motorway restaurant somewhere in the desert has to find a way of saving her young female friend, an illegal immigrant from Afghanistan. An absurd, tender and suspenseful film,” a synopsis for the flick on the official website of the Swiss festival reads.
The short film is directed by Bijan Aarabi and the cast list includes Masoumeh Qasemipour, Ali Baqeri, and Shahla Akbari.
Two other Iranian short films, including ‘False Ceiling’ and ‘All the Time’, will also compete at the festival.
Founded in 1987, the FIFF presents feature and short films from Africa, Asia, Latin America or Eastern Europe to the audience.
The 35th edition of the festival will be held on July 16-25, 2021.
