Palestine Calls for Sanctions Against Zionist Regime

RAMALLAH (Dispatches) – The Palestinian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement calling on the international community to condemn the Zionist regime over its actions in the Palestinian territories and introduce relevant sanctions against the occupying regime.
“The interaction of countries and the United Nations and their interest in these reports, if any, is without any merit and does not encourage the international bodies to provide protection for our people and implement the relevant UN resolutions,” the statement read, according to WAFA news agency.
The Red Crescent reported that 408 Palestinian protesters were injured in assaults by Zionist troops on Friday during a march against construction of a new settlement in the occupied West Bank. This comes just as the new Zionist cabinet headed by prime minister Naftali Bennett approved another West Bank construction.
In its Saturday statement, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry criticized the U.S. administration, the European Union the United Nations for being “totally biased” in favor of the regime, noting that they have failed to put pressure on the regime to stop its killing, repression and land theft in the occupied Palestinian territories.
“The interaction of countries and the United Nations and their interest in these reports, if any, is without any merit and does not encourage the international bodies to provide protection for our people and implement the relevant UN resolutions,” it said.
The U.S. has turned a blind eye to the crimes committed by the occupying regime, and instead, continued to back what it called the regime’s “right to self-defense” even after the regime’s latest war on Gaza, which also displaced over 72,000 Palestinians in the besieged enclave.
The Palestinian Independent Commission for Human Rights (ICHR) said on May 31 that the Zionist regime pursues “systematic and deliberate extermination of entire Palestinian families.”
From May 10 to 21, the occupying regime continuously bombarded the Gaza Strip, killing over 256 Palestinians, including 66 children. The war was prompted by the regime’s repeated assaults against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including its forced displacement plots.
Israelis routinely seize new pieces of Palestinian territory for their illegal settlement expansion and restrict Palestinians’ freedom of movement across the occupied territories.
The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas says the recent Operation al-Quds Sword has been the best response to the Zionist regime annexation scheme and the regime’s violations in the occupied al-Quds.
The Operation al-Quds Sword “turned the table over the head of the occupation as it thought that it could impose new faits accomplis in Jerusalem [al-Quds] and attack our people there through suppressing and displacing them without the Palestinian people lifting a finger,” said Hamas in a press release on Sunday, the Palestinian Information Center reported.
