The US at its Devilry in Yemen

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

The Yemenis, especially their legitimate government in Sana’a, ought to be extra cautious regarding the US attempt to act as a peacemaker in the 6-year war, when it is clear that the Zionist-controlled American regime is no friend of the Yemeni – or for that matter of Arab or any other Muslim people.
The reason US special envoy, Tim Lenderking, calls the Ansarallah Movement a “legitimate force in Yemen” is not any realization of historical, political, and geographical realities, or Washington’s intentions to establish healthy reciprocal relations with the legal government in Sana’a.
It is rather a devilish remark, coming on the heels of Lenderking’s terming of the illegal mercenary outfit in Aden led by the Saudi-based fugitive from justice, Mansour Hadi, as “Yemen’s only legitimate government”,
In other words, this deceptive American move, along with the recent dropping of the tag ‘Houthi terrorists’, is not just an indirect admission of the military prowess of the Yemeni people in keeping the Saudi-UAE mercenaries at bay by shattering the myth of invincibility of the US-British supplied weaponry, but the fears of the inevitable involvement of the Yemenis in upgrading the deterrent power of the besieged people of Gaza and actively joining the Palestinian people in the liberation of their homeland from Zionist usurpation.
At the same time it is a futile American bid to meddle in the affairs of Yemen, where a crisis that could have been peacefully resolved by the Yemeni people themselves, has been blown out of proportion with massive destruction in men and materials through the war launched by the unrepresentative regimes in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi at the behest of the US and Britain.
Washington is after a physical presence in Yemen in order to plunder the rich natural resources of that country by keeping the Yemeni people embroiled in a perpetual turmoil on the pattern of Afghanistan; hence Lenderking’s visits to Sana’a and attempts to act as a peace player.
Imagine, a wolf in a sheep’s clothing, speaking of peace, and that too without asking the invaders to withdraw from Yemeni soil.
The Yemeni people, however, are made of sterner stuff, and know that an imposed peace is worse than an imposed war in which the enemies have clearly failed and are now plotting a one-sided truce to force them into submission.
