Iran Launches Permanent Technology House

TEHRAN - Deputy Head of the Iranian presidency’s office for scientific affairs Mehdi Qalenoyee said on Sunday that the country has launched a permanent technology house at Tehran International Exhibition to display 800 innovative and hi-tech products manufactured by the country’s experts and knowledge-based companies to the foreign visitors for exports.
“The technology house has been set up at Tehran International Exhibition to be a place for presenting high-tech products for exports, introducing Iran-made products to foreign visitors and forming a hub for exporting knowledge-based and creative products with export potential,” Qalenoyee said.
He added that the Iran Innovation and Technology House has been created in an area of 3,500 square meters with a capacity of introducing more than 800 products from 300 knowledge-based and creative companies.
The official said that the permanent exhibition of Iran-made products includes 12 specialized technological sections, including machinery, transportation, electricity and electronics, agriculture, advanced materials, metal industries, medical equipment, medicine and health and creative industries, software and applications, games, animation, handicrafts, etc.
An official with the Iranian Vice-Presidency for Science and Technology announced last year the country’s plans to boost exports of knowledge-based products to foreign states to $1bln annually.
“We intend to increase export of Iran-made knowledge-based products which now stands at $500mln to $1bln in this year that has been named as the Year of Surge in Production,” Director of the Center for Development of Strategic Technologies in Iran’s Presidential Department for Science and Technology Esmayeel Qaderifar said.
He referred to the production of different masks, disinfectants and medical equipment in the campaign against coronavirus, saying that the country exports these products in addition to ventilators and kits to diagnose COVID-19 virus.
