Iranian Girls Runner-Up at CAFA U-19 Championship

TEHRAN – Iran became runner-up at the 2021 CAFA U-19 Girls Championship on Thursday.
The Iranian girls beat Kyrgyzstan 4-1 in their last match, while Uzbekistan defeated Tajikistan 7-1 and won the title for the second time due to a better goal difference.
Iran started the campaign with a 3-0 win over Tajikistan and then defeated Afghanistan 8-0.
Iran also drew 2-2 with Uzbekistan.
The tournament brought Tajikistan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan together in a round-robin tournament.
Iran’s Zandi Named CAFA U-19 Girls Best Player
Negin Zandi was named as the best player of the 2021 CAFA U-19 Girls Championship.
Iran became runner-up at the competition which was held in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.
Zandi played a key role in her team’s success in the tournament.
Afghanistan also won the Fair Play award.
The CAFA Junior Championship is an international football competition in Central Asia for the member nations of the Central Asian Football Association (CAFA).
