Over 59mn Eligible to Vote in Iran’s 2021 Presidential Election

TEHRAN - Deputy Interior Minister of Iran and head of the country’s election commission announced Jamal Oraf has said that out of over 59 million Iranians who are eligible to vote in the 2021 presidential election, over 1.3 million Iranians will be voting for the first time.
Oraf said that 59,310, 307 Iranians can cast votes in the forthcoming presidential election with over 1.3 million of them being first-voters.
He added that except for Tehran, voting would be electronic in 24 provincial capitals, where no paper ballots or usual ballot boxes would be used.
More than 72,000 polling stations will be installed across the country, the official further said.
The official also said that the Ministry of Health and Iran’s Red Crescent Society will have inspectors on the polling stations to monitor the optimum observation of health protocols.

14 Ballot Boxes Ready for Iran’s Expatriates in Iraq

Iranian embassy in Baghdad said 14 ballot boxes would be set up for Iranians residing in Iraq to cast their votes in the 13th presidential election.
Iranian mission announced that 14 polling stations will be provided in Erbil, Baghdad, Najaf, Basra, Karbala, and Sulaymaniyah cities for Iranian living in Iraq.
Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Iraj Masjedi hoped for people’s massive turnout in the election.
Iran’s 13th presidential election will be held simultaneous with the sixth round of municipal council elections for the cities and villages, the first mid-term for 11th round of parliamentary by-election, and the second mid-term for the fifth round of Assembly of Experts’ election on June 18.
On May 25, Iran’s Ministry of Interior released the names of seven presidential hopefuls who have been qualified by the Guardian Council.
