Sisi’s Reign of Terror in Egypt

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

The recent non-appealable verdict by Egypt’s highest court, authorizing the regime to murder twelve more members of the popular Muslim Brotherhood after a sham trial, is further proof of the revival of Pharaonic laws in the Arabic-speaking North African country with a glorious Islamic past.
Fear rules the Land of the River Nile as President Abdel Fattah as-Sisi – an ungrateful junior military officer who took bribes from Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and orders from the US and the illegal Zionist regime, to turn traitor against the short-lived Islamic government that had promoted him over the ‘suspicious’ top brass to head the Egyptian armed forces – is out on a killing spree.
His goal is not just to stifle any opposition to his rule, but to slaughter through kangaroo courts all Muslim Brotherhood members with leadership potentials to deliver the Egyptian people from the current abject state of slavery to the Israelis and the Americans
So sadistic is the decision to systematically snuff out the life of the hapless inmates numbering hundreds, if not thousands, who were rounded up after the coup that toppled Mohammed Morsi – the only elected president in Egypt’s 5,000-year old recorded history – that even human rights bodies based in the West are openly expressing their disgust at the deteriorating human rights situation.
In the words of Philip Luther, Amnesty International’s Research and Advocacy Director for West Asia-North Africa, the death sentences handed out on Monday “cast a shadow over Egypt’s entire system of justice.”
He said in his statement: “These ruthless death sentences, after a grossly unfair mass trial that started in 2018, are a stain on the reputation of Egypt’s highest appeals court.”
Amnesty International has also lambasted the “significant spike” in recorded executions in Egypt from 32 in 2019 to 107 last year – with many more hangings to death of the political prisoners this year.
According to Khalil al-Anani, a political science professor at the Doha Institute in Qatar, who is an expert on the Muslim Brotherhood, the latest verdict is part of the regime’s “continued political revenge against its opponents.”
Morsi who died during trial at a court in Cairo on June 17, 2019 (most probably killed through slow poisoning) was removed from power on July 3, 2013 by the ingrate General Sisi, on whose orders the following month in August the Egyptian army cold-bloodedly massacred almost a thousand peaceful protestors staging a sit-in at the Rabaa al-Adawiya Square in the eastern part of the Egyptian capital to demand his return.
All these brutalities afflicting the Egyptian Muslim people are due to the folly of Morsi in giving free rein to the heretical Salafi cult to indulge in sectarian violence on the streets of Egyptian cities, coupled with his blind trust in the avowed enemies of the Muslim Brotherhood – the pro-Zionist regimes in Riyadh and Abu Dhabi –while ignoring the fraternal and friendly advice by the Islamic Republic of Iran to urgently establish public mobilization armed units to confront possibilities of coup by the Mubarak military.
The reign of terror by Sisi or any other general will definitely not last long and neither will the stranglehold of the US and Israel persist, or for that matter the financial clout of the rootless oil-rich regimes of the Persian Gulf.
This means the Egyptian Muslim people who are presently offering invaluable sacrifices have a bright future. They ought to learn from the current mistakes in order to once again transform Egypt into a bastion of Islamic culture and rule of law.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is too willing to offer its rich anti-imperialist experiences to the brotherly people of Egypt in achieving independence and stability.
