Oil, Gas Industry Innovation, Technology Park Starts Operating
TEHRAN – An Oil and Gas Industry Innovation and Technology Park has been officially inaugurated with the aim of developing technologies and expanding cooperation among those who are active in innovation and technology.
The inauguration ceremony has been held at the presence of Iran’s Petroleum Minister Bijan Zangeneh, Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari and a group of top officials in oil industry as well as researchers and technology experts on Monday.
The Oil and Gas Industry Innovation and Technology Park has been set up in an area of 32 hectares, where it was belonged to the Petroleum Industry Research Institute in Baghershahr town near Tehran Oil Refinery.
The governmental entity has been established with the aim of developing technologies relevant to oil and gas industry at universities, research institutes, private companies and markets.
The park plans to upgrade related technologies, develop markets, improve knowledge-based economy and create professional job opportunities. It is going to complete existing capacities in science and technology infrastructure of the Islamic Republic in oil and gas sectors.
The Oil and Gas Industry Innovation and Technology Park provides small and middle-sized enterprises, research and academic institutes, risk-taking investors, and innovation promoters to find an appropriate place for expanding collaborations in this respect.
