UNITED NATIONS (Dispatches) -- Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations has strongly condemned continued support for terrorists in Syria under various pretexts.
“Supporting terrorists in Syria and dividing them into good and bad should end,” Majid Takht Ravanchi told a United Nations Security Council meeting.
The envoy urged an end to the “uncalled-for” foreign military presence in Syria and violation of the country’s sovereignty, especially by the occupying regime of Israel. The Islamic Republic vehemently condemns such violations, he added.
Takht Ravanchi said Iran is still committed to a “peaceful resolution” of the situation in Syria.
He also touched on U.S. sanctions on Syria, denouncing them irresponsible and immoral. “We condemn use of food and medicine as weapon.
