Steel Ingot Exports Show 135% Growth

TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade has reportedtaht the country’s steel ingot export registered a 135 percent growth in the first month of the current year (March 21 to April 21.
Some 566,000 tons of steel ingot was exported from the country from March 21 to April 21, showing a significant 135 percent increase as compared to the last year’s corresponding period, the ministry added.
According to the ministry’s figures 265,000 tons of steel products as well as 70,000 tons of sponge iron was exported from the country in the same period, showing a 215 and 250 percent growth respectively as compared to last year’s same period.
Accordingly, 2,805,000 tons of steel ingots (billets, blooms, slabs) were produced in the country from March 21 to April 21.
