The Saga of Khorramshahr Continues its Liberating Process

By: Kayhan Int’l Staff Writer

Today, as we celebrate the 39th anniversary of the glorious liberation of the city of Khorramshahr, we first and foremost thank God Almighty Who granted success to the relentless efforts of our combatants and we then feel gratified at the string of victories Iran’s achievements against global arrogance has inspired over the past four decades, the latest being recent humiliation of the illegal Zionist regime at the hands of the lightly armed Palestinian fighters of the besieged enclave of Gaza.
Yes, Operation Bayt al-Moqaddas which the Iranians launched to retake the strategic port city from a year and seven months of Ba’thist occupation was a turning point in modern military history that made the calculations of the armed-to-the teeth enemies of humanity go awry.
Its message is loud and clear – whatever the odds, never yield to the demands of the aggressors and never say no to the campaign of the Resistance Fighters to confront and bring down the goliaths to their knees.
The chain reaction that the liberation of Khorramshahr triggered is evident to all. It resulted in the liberation of southern Lebanon from Zionist occupation by the legendry anti-terrorist movement, Hezbollah, in 2000.
It inspired the Palestinians to liberate Gaza by forcing out the Israeli occupiers in 2005, and then over the past sixteen years to blunt the periodic brutal assaults of the Zionists who are now facing rapidly advanced rocket retaliation that shattered the so-called iron dome.
It instilled the Iraqi Muslims with the spirit of resistance against Saddam’s reign of terror, and after the Ba’thist downfall, made them end the US occupation of their country in 2011. (Unfortunately, some shortsighted Iraqi politicians invited the Americans back in 2014, but the Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), with the backing of the nation, is determined drive out the Yankees in the same manner that Daesh was decisively defeated in 2018).
The saga of Khorramshahr was repeated in 2016 in Aleppo which the Syrian army and allied forces liberated from the tentacles of the macabrely murderous takfiri terrorists, and are poised to free the remaining parts of the country from the occupiers – including the Golan Heights from the Zionists.
Today, if Afghans are intent upon forcing the American occupiers out of their country, the liberation process set in motion by the popular Ansarallah Movement to clear Marib and other parts of Yemen from the Saudis and their mercenaries, is indebted to the heroics of the Iranian combatants in Khorramshahr.
In short, all oppressed people, including those in Bahrain and mainland Arabia, draw inspirations from the story of Khorramshahr, and are fully confident of ending the tyranny of the Aal-e Khalifa minority regime and the minority cult in power in Riyadh.
The return of Khorramshar is indeed a tribute to the insight and foresight of the Father of the Islamic Revolution who brushed aside the so-called diplomatic suggestions for ceasefire while the aggressor was in occupation of large chunks of the southwestern parts of our homeland.
Imam Khomeini (RA) knew that an imposed peace is worse than an imposed war – a valuable lesson which freedom fighters all over the world have learned and will never repeat the follies of the past.
