TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Head of Iran’s Customs Administration (IRICA) Mehdi Mir-Ashrafi has said that the country exported $5.6 billion worth of non-oil goods and commodities to foreign countries from March 21 to May 15, 2021, showing a 46% rise compared with the same period last year.
Mir-Ashrafi said that some 15.5 million tons of non-oil goods, valued at $5.6 billion, were exported from from March 21 to May 15, 2021, setting a 46 percent growth as compared to the same period of last year.
“Totally 145.7 million tons of non-oil goods, worth $73 billion, were exported and imported from/to the country last year (from March 21, 2020 to March 20, 2021),” he added.
He went on to say that 10,343,000 tons of commodities, valued at $5.762 billion, were exchanged between Iran and its trader partner in the first Iranian month of Farvardin (March 21 to April 20), showing a 32 and 62.5 percent rise both in terms of weight and value respectively.
Last week, Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade announced that the country’s non-oil exports have witnesses 80 percent increase since the beginning of the year (March 21).
“The ministry of industry, mine, and trade did its best to pave the way for exports and still focuses on this fact as its main responsibility,” Ali Reza Razmhosseini said addressing a meeting to develop Iran’s export developing programs in Tehran on Wednesday.
“Although sanctions were imposed on Iran, the rate of Iran’s exports last year was 35 billion dollars,” he added.
Razmhosseini pointed out that through cooperation with unions and private sections, Iran’s rate of non-oil exports increased by 80 percent in the last 50 days compared to the similar period last year.
