Director Mehrjouee Granted Iran’s Short Film Academy Award

TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Prominent Iranian filmmaker Dariush Mehrjouee has been honored at the 11th edition of the Iranian Short Film Academy Awards (aka ISFA awards) in Tehran.
The Iranian Short Film Academy Awards announced the winners of its 2021 edition during a closing ceremony of ISFA Awards that took place online on Thursday due to the coronavirus pandemic.
During the ceremony, a video was broadcast showing the ISFA medal being handed to the veteran director at his home.
In the video, Mehrjouee addressed the directors of short films, and stressed the importance of making a short film, saying, "It is hard work as you have to make your point in a short time.”
The 81-year-old director made his directorial debut in 1966.
He has made 10 short films as well as several features including ‘Sara’ and ‘The Orange Suit’, which were aired on ifilm English TV channel.
His movies garnered several awards at domestic and international film festivals.
The ISFA Awards is an annual event organized by the Iranian Short Film Association.
