IRCA: Annual Trade With Russia Exceeds $2.5bn

TEHRAN (Dispatches) - The head of Islamic Republic of Iran’s Customs Administration (IRICA) Mehdi Mir Ashrafi has said that his country and Russia had a trade of more than $2.5 billion in the past calendar year (ended March 20).
The Official said that Russia was responsible for a major part of trade between Iran and members of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in last year, with nearly $2.626 billion in value.
He added that imports from Russia reached over $2.116 billion over the period, an increase of 19% compared to the previous year.
"Iran’s exports to Russia also increased by 10% year on year in late March to nearly $510 million,” IRICA chief noted.
He said trade with Russia had accounted for 77% of Iran’s total trade with the EAEU.  

Iran Ups Non-Oil Exports by 80% in 2 Months
Iranian Minister of Industry, Mine, and Trade Ali Reza Razmhusseini announced that the country’s non-oil exports have witnesses 80 percent increase in the past two months.
"The ministry of industry, mine, and trade did its best to pave the way for exports and still focuses on this fact as its main responsibility,” said addressing a meeting to develop Iran’s export developing programs in Tehran.
"Although sanctions were imposed on Iran, the rate of Iran’s exports last year was 35 billion dollars,” he added.
Razmhusseini pointed out that through cooperation with unions and private sections, Iran’s rate of non-oil exports increased by 80 percent in the last two months compared to the similar period last year.
