TEHRAN (IFILM) -- Director of acclaimed Iranian animation ‘The Last Fiction’ is making new animated film ‘The Dragon’s Treasure’ in collaboration with a Canadian studio.
Ashkan Rahgozar’s new animation following internationally celebrated ‘The Lat Fiction’ will be produced in collaboration between Iranian Hoorakhsh studio and Canada-based Mystic House, a media report said.
Arman Rahgozar is the executive producer of Hoorakhsh, ‘The Last Fiction’ production studio, as well as Alireza Kabiri of Mystic House co-director with the new animation expected to wrap up in 2023.
Hourash said in a press release that ‘The Dragon’s Treasure’ is in development based on a Persian legend without giving further details on its plot.
‘The Last Fiction’ was among the submissions for consideration at the 2020 Oscars. The Annecy animation festival screened the movie in a non-competitive section in 2018.
Drawing inspiration from the great Persian literature classic, The Book of Kings, ‘The Last Fiction’ stands out as one of the most ambitious projects undertaken in Iranian cinema, universalizing its imagination through animation and epic fantasy.
The world-renowned Iranian vocalist Shahram Nazeri has sung the closing credits song in the movie.
