Concerted Efforts Needed to Realize Leader’s Guidelines

TEHRAN (Dispatches) -- President of Iran Hassan Rouhani on Sunday called for cooperation and coordination among various organizations to support and boost production in accordance with the guidelines of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei at the beginning of the Persian new year last month.
In a televised speech on March 20, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the Iranian nation’s victory in confronting the enemy’s maximum pressures, declaring the Persian year of 1400 as the "year for support for production and elimination of obstacles”.
Rouhani on Sunday stressed the need for collective efforts for the materialization of the new Iranian year’s objectives.
The president said what matters the most now is to strengthen production and improve the environment for businesses, which he said require cooperation and synergy among all Iranian sectors and branches of power.
The elimination of obstacles and supporting domestic production requires tangible and practical actions, not mere words, the president said.
Rouhani on Saturday praised the Iranian nation day for confronting various challenges facing the Islamic Republic.
The world, he said, has been fighting coronavirus pandemic for 14 months, but Iran has been fighting both cruel sanctions and the pandemic at the same time.
"In addition to the coronavirus, the Iranian nation has been facing sanctions and unprecedented economic terror for more than three years,” he said.
Rouhani hailed the Iranian nation for withstanding the challenges as he praised the sacrifices of Iranian health sector.
On Sunday, Iran registered one of the highest daily death rates from the coronavirus infection in recent weeks.
Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said the total number of COVID-19 cases in the country surpassed 1,932,000 after 11,680 new cases were detected over the past 24 hours.
The pandemic also claims 161 lives, bringing the overall death toll to 63,160.
More than 1,650,560 patients have recovered from the coronavirus infection so far or been discharged from hospital, Lari noted.
