TEHRAN (Dispatches) - Head of South Khorasan Customs Office Mohammad-Ali Khashi said that the Eastern province of south Khorasan exported over $13 million worth of various goods during the first quarter of the Iranian calendar year (started on March 20).
Khashi said the definite export from Mahiroud border market in the first quarter of the current year (March 20-July 20) has been 13 million, 112 thousand and 97 dollars, adding that 1,638 trucks from countries including Indonesia, China, Turkmenistan, India, Russia, and Turkey were transited to Afghanistan through Mahiroud Border Terminal.
"Most of the exported products from both the Customs Administration and the Mahiroud market included summer crops, cement, oil, diesel, salt, eggs, and tiles,” he said.
Unlike some other borders, Mahiroud border was not closed down during the coronavirus outbreak, and continues its usual activities, he noted.
